Human Intelligence and Neural Network

Intelligence is a human characteristic that comprises of two attributes:-
1) Knowledge.
2) Aptitude.

Knowledge: Knowledge is basically a collection of facts or rules that can be manipulated or used to develop certain inferences. Knowledge is a collection of information that a person acquires through his/her own senses. The more you use your senses that better you are able to grasp it. A person grasping information from all 5 senses would perceive it much better than someone who's using only 1 or 2 senses for the same job. The human brain stores information in the form of a neural network. The network of neurons collects information from the outside world through the five human senses. The network classifies information into I/p s and respective O/p s. For e.g. a fact Vaibhav is my friend can be stored as I/p – Vaibhav; O/p –friend. Whenever the n/w will get i/p as "Vaibhav" the n/w will give o/p as "friend". There can be many such facts and the whole network can give many O/p's with a single i/p. For e.g. on receiving Vaibhav as i/p the output can be any or all of "Friend", "Phone No. 9893452021", "a Computer Engineer" etc. The brain stores the information redundantly, i.e ., the same information is stored in many places in the network. Neurons die out daily, and so, if information stored in one part of network gets lost, the redundant information stored in some other part is retrieved. But, the probability of retrieving the stored information completely is less as the no. of neurons that die daily is very large. The redundant repositories are formed when a person tries to grasp the same information repeatedly. That is why people advice to revise subjects well before going for exams. Revision helps the brain to store the same information in different parts of the network. Each time you revise, one or more redundant links are formed. So, even you loose some neurons that were storing valuable information, still you are able to regain the information.

Aptitude: Aptitude is the ability of a person to correlate facts stored in the brain. Some researchers argue that aptitude/ intelligence is a property or characteristic that a human acquires at the time of birth. The activity and effectiveness of brain depends upon the flow of essential liquids and proper functioning of cells of the brain. A defect cause at the time of birth might lead to mental disability for whole life. Aptitude can again be linked to the science of neural networks as aptitude depends upon how well the various neurons are functioning and interacting in the brain. A few also support the theory that in some cases the aptitude of a person can be increased during his lifetime. The Human Brain, just like any other neural network can become strong and active, if given proper training. A person born with a good aptitude, if not nurtured well may end up a loser in life. Whereas, someone who may not have that a good aptitude initially, may come up with flying colours if properly trained. The environment in which a child has been brought up i.e. trained has a significant effect on his performance in future. The i/ps given at the time of training form the base on which his future relies.
